Built Environment Sustainability Scorecard (BESS) assessment is a part of ESD report that analyses energy efficiency, water efficiency, thermal comfort, and overall environmental sustainability performance of the development.

 

BESS helps to demonstrate that planning permit application ‘requirements are met. It addresses the key sustainable design criteria mentioned in the SDAPP program that should be considered by town planning applicants.

To pass BESS assessment, minimum scores in mandatory categories including Energy, Water, Stormwater, and IEQ must be 50%, 50%, 100%, and 50% respectively along with an overall score of 50%.
